Why Follow Our Dreams?

A text memo with our friends

One of my favorite places to dream on the Middlefork of the Salmon. Bonus points to anyone who can comment on what camp this is at :)

Can Anyone Follow Their Dreams?

Recently, I was having a text exchange with a sweet friend who lives across the country, and I was flying on cloud nine after hosting the first session of this Autumns 2024 DreamWeaving Series. I was sharing about how exciting it felt being back in a community dream setting and how nourishing the first session felt, even as a facilitator.

After my initial excited share, he responded with “I am so stoked for you! I would love to come be in your class, I wish that I could say I could receive it[…]I don’t really think I dream.”

You might think a comment like this would be discouraging as such a dream enthusiast, but when I heard him say this, it stoked my fire even more. I responded to let him know that not only why we might benefit from following our dreams, but also that following dreams is for everyone (even people who don’t recall their dreams very often!).

Are you interested in more broadly following your dreams? Sometimes we need to make sure we’re well rested and resourced to do so— Follow along and pursue The Art of Rest with us to make more space for dreaming

Whether you believe your dreams are a gift from your own consciousness and creativity, a gift from the land, or a gift from something bigger than we can conceive, one thing remains true—

Dreams are for everyone, and damn are they nourishing.
